How to open NIkon D90 raw file in photoshop CS4?

I just started to learn photography and photoshop. I have NO idea what I am doing. Please help !!!

I can’t open raw file from Nikon D90. I already down load a plug in but still don’t what to so next.
Can anyone give me an instruction…steps….how to open my file?
By the way, I am using MacBookPro.

    Most graphics programs need a driver or module that will allow you to open the RAW format file. There’s not standardization of this file format from brand to brand, so you need to search for one that is specific to Nikons.

    As for steps, I don’t use Photoshop, but you might want to read this:

    Assuming you are using Windows this is where you get the RAW plugin update. The D90 is supported.

    i use lightroom, you can view all your images off a device like if you’re using a card from your cam. it displays a gallery style of your images and from there you can choose which to export to PS, you can also change the format to JPG of TIFF.
